Rioja 'Village' Dominio del Carabo 2021
The Rioja 'Village' Dominio del Carabo is a rich, fragrant red wine made in Spain's Rioja region. Juicy, with a smooth drinkability and long, lingering finish, the nose expresses notes of berries and dark fruits, accompanied by light floral and spicy nuances. An everyday wine to accompany convivial meals with family or friends
The Rioja “Village” is a fruity and fragrant version of the wines produced by Dominio del Carabo, a Spanish bodega that has managed to stand out and gain the appreciation of enthusiasts thanks to a very recognizable style, which mainly aims to highlight and enhance the varietal characteristics of the grapes. This philosophy has established itself as the nouvelle vague of the Rioja region, which has always been fond of rather concentrated, intense reds resulting from long aging in wood. A new way of seeing the world of wine, which offers a more direct and straightforward tasting experience, allowing one to appreciate the lively aromas of small berries and delicate spicy notes.
The “Village” Rioja from Dominio del Carabo is born in an estate located near the Sierra de Cantabria. Although it is a relatively recent winery, it draws on the valuable experience of many generations of winemakers. It is precisely this deep knowledge of the region's traditions that has allowed an attempt to abandon overly invasive wood aging, to rediscover the stylistic signature of the terroir in its clear expressive purity. The Rioja area is located at an altitude of 500-800 meters above sea level and is characterized by a predominantly continental climate with strong temperature variations. The harvest takes place at the perfect ripeness of the grapes from the old vines of the estate. The classic fermentation with skin maceration for several weeks is then carried out. Before bottling, the wine matures in oak barrels and completes its aging in the bottle.
The Rioja “Village” from Dominio del Carabo is an unusual and surprising red, which places at the center of the project the goal of bringing into the glass the taste of the grapes, the primary notes, and the immediate fragrance of the varietal aromas. It presents a bright ruby red color and expresses a bouquet characterized by floral scents of peony and violet, aromas of ripe cherry, currant, blueberry, hints of underbrush, and soft spices. Rich and juicy, it offers crunchy sensations and a lively and harmonious sip, which stretches towards a savory andgreat freshness.
