Rosso 'Li Sureddi' Antichi Vigneti Manca 2023
The Red 'Li Sureddi' Antichi Vigneti Manca is a deeply territorial red wine produced from Cannonau in Romangia, on the northern coast of Sardinia. The long aging in cement gives it complexity and aromaticity, enhancing the warm aromas of ripe red fruit and spirits, well balanced by delicate vegetal and balsamic notes. On the palate, it is full and enveloping, concluding with a pleasant savory vein that invites you to take another sip, offering a smooth and well-balanced drink between freshness and alcohol. A wine of great character to be tasted, with the right calm, in front of a lit fireplace
The Red "Li Sureddi" by Antichi Vigneti Manca is a splendid version of the most famous wine from Sardinia. It is a pure Cannonau, born from old vines planted with an ancient Sardinian biotype of this red grape variety, which is widely spread in the Mediterranean basin and known in Spain as Garnacha Tinta and in France as Grenache Noir. It is a variety that loves warm and breezy climates and produces very harmonious wines, with rich and seductive fruit. This label is no exception, authentically reflecting the personality of the grapes, combined with the marine characteristics of the terroir.
The "Li Sureddi" Red from Antichi Vigneti Manca originates from the company estate located in Romangia, the northwestern area of the island. The vineyards are situated in the hilly inland, between Castelsardo and Porto Torres, and enjoy a typically Mediterranean climate, warm, dry, and very windy, thanks to the presence of marine breezes and the Maestrale. Almost all the vineyards are trained as bush vines, following the oldest traditions of the area. The Cannonau vines have an average age of about 45 years and are cultivated on ancient marine origin soils, composed of marls very rich in limestone, fossils, and sandstones. At the end of the harvest operations, the best bunches are fermented in open vats with only indigenous yeasts and skin maceration. The wine matures for about two years in cement tanks before being bottled.
The Red wine “Li Sureddi” by Antichi Vigneti Manca is a Cannonau of great charm, interpreting the straightforward and direct style of the winery, which has always been committed to producing artisanal wines with a strong personality. Visually, it presents a dark ruby red color with slight purple reflections. The bouquet offers fragrant notes of small berries, blueberry, blackcurrant, wild blackberry, red plum, hints of aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrub, and delicate spicy notes. On the palate, it has a mature tannic texture well integrated with the body of the wine and a wide and rich palette of aromas, culminating in a savory and persistent finish.
