The Sancerre Rosé “Origine” Matthias et Emile Roblin is a rosé of great finesse and expressive elegance, made in the Loire Valley with pure Pinot Noir grapes. The Burgundy red has acclimatized well in the area north of Sancerre and produces very interesting wines. The vinification in rosé, exclusively in steel, allows for the refined floral and fruity aromas of Pinot Noir to come to the forefront. It is a rosé with a subtle and fragrant bouquet, played on the notes of small red berry fruits, with a fresh and smooth sip.
“Origine” is a Sancerre Rosé that originates from a family Domaine that has been dedicated to viticulture for generations in the magnificent and renowned territory of Sancerre. In 2000, Matthias et Emile took the helm of the company joining the Domaine Roblin. They created a productive reality of about twenty hectares north of Sancerre, in the areas of Maimbray and Sury-en-Vaux. The vineyards are divided into about forty parcels with different pedoclimatic characteristics, allowing for a small mosaic of grapes to produce
to create the cuvées. In the countryside, chemical pesticides and insecticides have been eliminated, in full respect of the environment. Following careful vineyard management, there is meticulous work in the cellar, aiming to preserve the varietal qualities of the grapes and offer wines with an authentic taste, that can express the mineral character of a terroir that rests on a Kimmeridgian limestone substrate, rich in marine fossils. The Rosé “Origine” by Matthias et Emile Roblin is a Sancerre that surprises with its extraordinary drinkability. It is produced with grapes from vineyards that are about 15 years old and are cultivated on soils characterized by clay-limestone compositions with the presence of silt, very suitable for red berry grapes. At the end of the soft pressing, with a brief contact with the skins, the must is vinified in white in steel tanks with temperature control. Before bottling, the wine matures for 3 or 4 months in steel on the fine lees. In the glass, it presents a very pale and luminous pink. The bouquet expresses delicate aromas
floral, aromas of raspberry, currant, and small red berry fruits, hints of wild herbs and vegetal notes. On the palate, it is subtle and dynamic, with a sip of great elegance and a very fresh finish, which closes on savory and mineral sensations. It is an ideal wine to enjoy as an aperitif or to accompany dishes with delicate flavors.
