The Cloudy Bay Sauvignon is an interpretation of Sauvignon Blanc exotic and mineral, coming from the distant New Zealand. Cloudy Bay is one of the largest and most renowned wine producers in New Zealand, credited with elevating the wine image of the country and particularly the Marlborough region, considered the acquired homeland of Sauvignon Blanc. Today, the winery, founded in 1985 by David Hohnen, is part of the French group LVMH, already owner of iconic wine brands such as Krug, Dom Pérignon, and Chateau d’Yquem.
Cloudy Bay Sauvignon is produced exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown in Marlborough, in the Wairau Valley, on soils rich in sand and gravel in a cool oceanic climate. The grapes from each plot are vinified separately with alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with a small percentage of the mass fermenting in French oak barriques. After a few months of maturation on the fine lees, the blending of the batches proceeds, always seeking balance and maximum.quality.
The New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from Cloudy Bay has a bright straw-yellow color. The nose is rich and intensely fruity with notes of white peach, lime, and passion fruit, complemented by mineral sensations and orange blossom. The palate is soft, full, and satisfying, well-balanced by the vibrant freshness and excellent savory-mineral finish. The long and appetizing closure lingers on citrus and exotic fruit notes. This is a New World white wine with excellent versatility in food and wine pairing, suitable for various seafood dishes, assorted cheeses, and asparagus risottos!
