Sizzano Riserva 'Roano' from the Piedmontese winery Valle Roncati is a deep and balanced red wine blend of different grapes. After alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks, the wine is left to age for a long period in French oak barrels. A deep and harmonious sip, underlined by hints of violet and intense spicy notes

Valle Roncati Sizzano Riserva ‘Roano’ is a Piedmontese label with a floral aromatic profile that originates in the Colline Novaresi area, in the north of the region. The controlled designation of origin Sizzano takes its name from the homonymous municipality in the province of Novara and, like other famous designations of the area, is based on Nebbiolo, locally called Spanna. This variety is blended with Vespolina and Uva Rara, indigenous grape varieties historically used in association with other grapes. The history of Sizzano wines is very ancient, dating back at least to the Middle Ages when they were consumed in courts and by bishops.

The Sizzano Riserva ‘Roano’ by Valle Roncati is made from a blend of Nebbiolo (70%), Vespolina (20%), and Uva Rara (10%). These grape varieties are grown at the foot of Monte Rosa, in the municipality of Sizzano, on clayey and sandy soils of morainic-alluvial origin, particularly rich in mineral substances. In the cellar, the winemaking is traditional, with alcoholic fermentation taking place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperaturecontrolled and the subsequent aging phase takes place in French oak barrels of various capacities for about 36 months. After bottling, the wine rests in glass at controlled temperature and humidity for a further long period before its final release on the market.

The ‘Roano’ Valle Roncati Sizzano Riserva presents itself with a beautiful ruby red cloak with garnet reflections. Rich and enveloping hints of violet, dog rose, red fruits, and various spices characterize the olfactory range. Dry and soft sip, with a marked sapidity that combines with velvety tannins in a fresh and harmonious finish. A structured red of great longevity, capable of comfortably supporting over 10 years of further aging in the bottle.
