Valle Roncati

The Valle Roncati winery represents a productive reality that fully reflects its territorial identity: we are in Briona, in the province of Novara, very close to the municipalities of Fara, Ghemme, and Gattinara where viticulture is now among the most typical activities. Here, planting and cultivating the vine is a centuries-old tradition, having become part of the local customs and developing highly prestigious oenological interpretations, appreciated all over the world. The principal grape variety of these areas is clearly Nebbiolo, known as Spanna to differentiate the northern Piedmontese autochthonous biotype, and it is usually supplemented with small parcels of other indigenous grapes, such as Vespolina or Uva Rara, which enrich the structure and body of Nebbiolo with intriguing refreshing and peppery notes.

Founded in 1997, Vigneti Valle Roncati was born from the passion that animated Corrado Grosso and his wife Cecilia, eager and fascinated to resume the activity that had been inaugurated by their grandfather, Giuseppe Fassa, a winemaker from the early 1900s in Northern Piedmont. Careful therefore to the traditions of the past but with a focus on technology and ecology, which has led Valle Roncati to develop modern vineyard management techniques that are respectful of the environment, alongside eco-friendly practices, conveyed through sustainably sourced natural products.

And it is here that Valle Roncati, at the foot of Monte Rosa, vinifies its purest expressions of terroir using grapes from its owned vineyards located in the municipalities of Briona, Ghemme, and Sizzano, situated at an altitude of 260 meters on soils rich in minerals and containing clay, limestone, and pebbles. The harvest at Valle Roncati is carried out by hand in small crates, with a rigorous selection of the best bunches to maintain the maximum fruit fragrance during vinification. This results in intense, aromatically complex labels that can convey to consumers the greatness to be discovered in this territory.
