
'Spigone' Marinferno

The ‘Spigone’ from the artisanal reality of Marinferno is a white macerated wine from Emilia to be appreciated for its pleasant rustic character. It is a blend of Malvasia Bianca di Candia Aromatica and Ortrugo, varieties grown in the Val Tidone area, a valley located between the provinces of Pavia and Piacenza that falls within the Colli Piacentini area. Since 2016, the Marinferno winery, led by the Sforza Fogliani family, has collaborated with various artists regarding the illustration of labels and other projects. Among these, Lucio “Basik” Bolognesi illustrated the label of the ‘Spigone’.
Marinferno ‘Spigone’ consists of a blend of Malvasia Bianca di Candia Aromatica (70%) and Ortrugo (30%) grapes sustainably cultivated within the “Ritta” vineyard of the Badenigo estate, at an altitude ranging from 160 to 250 meters above sea level. The clusters of the two varieties are vinified together in cement tanks through spontaneous alcoholic fermentation without temperature control, with skin maceration. The subsequent malolactic fermentation and maturation of about a year on the fine lees.
Throughout the entire production process, the use of additives and enological aids is excluded, as well as the recourse to clarification or filtration operations.The macerated white wine ‘Spigone’ from Marinferno has an intense golden yellow hue with amber reflections. The aromatic bouquet releases fascinating hints of ripe yellow fruit and herbal notes, accompanied by rustic reminders of earth and hints of dried fruit. Salty mineral puffs complete the olfactory context. Tasty and taut is the entrance on the palate, with vibrant freshness that accompanies the aromatic finish of great purity.
