Bergstrom's Syrah ”Gargantua California” is an experiment by this Oregon winery. Syrah has been prominent in American winemaking for a few decades now and gives surprising results throughout the West Coast. That's why Bergstrom offers several versions of Syrah from various states. The California version presents a fragrant bouquet, with violets, lavender meeting red fruits and herbs, with briny hints intertwining with the typical spicy aromas of Syrah. Fine, balanced and textured, it impresses with elegance and savoriness. The smoky and balsamic hints on the finish are especially intriguing.
