The "San Bortolo" by Angarano is a typical Torcolato from Breganze made with Vespaiola grapes left to dry in drying rooms for at least 4 months. It is aged in barriques for a year, giving intense aromas of candied fruit, citrus, chocolate, and toasted dried fruit on the nose. On the palate, it is soft and enveloping, supported by a decisive freshness and balanced by alcoholic notes and a savory touch.

The Torcolato Riserva “San Bortolo” by Le Vie Angarano is the typical dessert wine of the Breganze area. It is made from the dried bunches of the ancient indigenous white grape variety Vespaiola, which over the centuries has proven to be particularly suitable for the production of passito wines with a harmonious and balanced character. The grapes are vinified after a resting period of four months in the fruit drying room, allowing them to concentrate sugars and aromatic substances. The subsequent aging in barrique enriches the wine with aromas and mature notes of great charm. It is a perfect wine to enjoy with small dry pastries or with a platter of very aged or blue cheeses.

The passito Riserva Torcolato “San Bortolo” is produced by Le Vie Angarano, a company based in Bassano del Grappa, which manages a fifty-hectare estate of which 8 are planted with vines. The Le Vie Angarano winery was established in 2003, with the first replantings of the international grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and a typical local variety like Vespaiola. The vineyards are cultivated at an altitude of about 200 meters above sea level, on calcareous-clay soils, with the presence of alluvial deposits. The cool and ventilated climate allows for slow ripening, with particularly intense aromatic profiles and is particularly suitable for the drying of the grapes. Thus, a great wine of tradition is born, a centuries-old custom and historical memory of the Breganze territory. Angarano, in fact, was born with the desire to reconnect with past experiences to propose authentic and genuine wines.

The “San Bortolo” Torcolato Riserva from the Veneto winery Le Vie Angarano is a label produced following the oldest traditions. At the end of the drying period, fermentation in oak barrique takes place. The wine ages for 24 months in new barriques before being bottled. In the glass, it has a bright amber-yellow color. The olfactory profile recalls citrus fruits, candied orange peel, ripe yellow fruit, dehydrated apricot, and dried fruit. On the palate, it has a soft and seductive entry, with intense and complex aromas that open up to a rich and juicy mid-palate, well balanced by freshness. The finish is long and persistent. It is a great dessert wine, a precious rarity to discover.
