The Le Vie Angarano winery is one of the most interesting and historic producers in the Veneto region. This is undoubtedly due to the work of Giovanna, a descendant of the noble families of the Most Serene Republic of Venice, who, driven by love and passion for the world of wine, decided to restart the production cycle of the winery and produce territorial wines in the name of tradition, innovation and quality. The winery's success has been continuous and expanding, and has also found great recognition on international markets. The historic estate is located in the small town of Bassano del Grappa and covers an area of around 50 hectares, 8 of which are dedicated exclusively to vines. Although it was officially opened in 2019, its history is rooted in the past; in fact, the centre of the estate is overlooked by the ancient Palladian villa dating back to the 18th century, commissioned by Giacomo Angarano from his friend Andrea Palladio as a place to live and relax. The barns were finished in 1556, while the central body, in Baroque style, was completed in the late 17th century by Domenico Bargutti. Inside there are ancient statues, a marvellous stable and a small church testifying to the ancient history of the past!
The Vie Angarano vineyards, which are organically certified, are located in the lower hills and have their roots in pebbly soils of alluvial origin. Here, on the slopes of Mount Castellaro and the Asiago Plateau, with the Brenta and Monte Grappa mountains in the background, a pleasant night breeze blows, allowing the grapes to grow at a perfect degree of ripeness and rich in aromas. The international grapes, Merlot, Cabernet and Chardonnay, are ideally suited to this terroir, followed by local grapes such as Vespaiola (used to produce dry white wines or passito wines). Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature and ageing takes place in steel or wooden barrels in a cellar where dynamism and modernity are evident. Considered to be the beehive of the winery and an emblem of its industriousness, the cellar houses a vinification room and a wonderful barrel cellar.
The winery, which also goes by the name of Michiel, produces red, white and passito wines with a clean and pleasant profile, equipped with a pleasant sapid imprint. They bring the typical varietal scents of the grape back to the glass, together with a pleasant, soaring freshness: a feast of flavours, colours and aromas!
