The grapes Nero di Troia that make Rosso "Torre del Falco" of Torrevento are grown in the Alta Murgia National Park, with limestone and hard soils. They undergo a long maceration and fermentation in steel tanks so that the varietal aromas stand still. It shows strong earthy notes and berries such as blackberry and redcurrant. The sip is very plesant and easy, adding floreal aromas of violet and spices and giving a quite large and elegant aromatic range

The red "Torre del Falco" from the Torrevento winery grows among the rugged slopes of the Alta Murgia National Park in Puglia. Francesco Liantonio's winery is the flagship of the Castel del Monte area and aims to enhance the native grape varieties of this land, as is the case with Nero di Troia. Particularly inclined to use environmentally friendly practices, the winery was born from an ancient Benedictine monastery, built in the 1400s and later purchased by Francesco's grandfather, who returned from the United States after making his fortune. Currently, all labels are welcomed in the cellars carved into the rock by the monks, as tradition dictates.

"Torre del Falco" is a red that Torrevento produces entirely from Nero di Troia grapes, one of the oldest and most characteristic grape varieties of the region, linked to the myth of the city from which it takes its name, as it seems to have been introduced by one of the Hellenic heroes who participated in the siege. It is harvested during the third decade of October and undergoes a long maceration followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. At the end of these processes, it will spend about ten months aging always in steel.

Torrevento wants to express itself with a red of direct and rustic character for its "Torre del Falco". Of an intense and clear ruby color, it presents distinct herbaceous notes of wet earth and underbrush, accompanied by a second, more fruity and floral personality of plum, blackberry, red fruits, and fresh rose with a spicy finish of black pepper and hints of cinnamon. The tasting is elegant and soft, completed by caressing tannins with a medium body that makes it particularly pleasant and versatile. The Apulian profile of this label well narrates the harshness of the rocky and inhospitable lands of the Murgia, made cultivable by human ingenuity, thus it pairs well with equally rustic and pleasant cuisine such as cured meats, roasted meats, or fresh cheeses.
