ArtisanalThe Trebbiano Spoletino 'Vigna Vecchia' Collecapretta is an aromatic white wine produced from grapes of Trebbiano Spoletino grown on the oldest vines of the small family-run winery. Full-bodied, smooth, and very balanced on the palate, the varietal fruity notes are well balanced by a pronounced acidity and slight saline hints. On the nose, it expresses notes of yellow-fleshed fruit and white flowers, refreshed at the finish by delicate vegetal and mineral aromas.
With its mineral and saline personality, the Trebbiano Spoletino ‘Vigna Vecchia’ from the Umbrian estate Collecapretta is capable of captivating the taster, especially after a couple of years from the harvest. The production approach that guides the activity of the Mattioli family, owner of the Collecapretta winery, is based on the exclusion of synthetic chemistry in the vineyards, totally spontaneous fermentations without temperature control, and no use of enological additives and auxiliaries, including sulfites.
Collecapretta Trebbiano Spoletino ‘Vigna Vecchia’ is a pure expression of Trebbiano Spoletino coming from a old vineyard over 60 years old, cultivated without the use of herbicides, pesticides, and other synthetic chemical substances. The plants are grown on hilly soils with the trellis system as in the Umbrian peasant tradition. When the grapes have reached the optimal ripening stage, manual harvesting of the grapes is carried out, which are then vinified through spontaneous alcoholic fermentation conducted exclusively by indigenous yeasts, without temperature control and excluding the use of enological auxiliaries and additives. After a few months of maturation, the wine is bottled without prior filtration or clarification and without any addition of sulfur.
The Trebbiano Spoletino ‘Vigna Vecchia’ from the family-run Umbrian reality Collecapretta has an intense straw-yellow color with golden reflections. The aromatic bouquet is defined by hints of white flowers and yellow-fleshed fruit that blend with delicate herbaceous and mineral notes.
