The Anselmi winery was born from the ashes of the Second World War, when grandfather Roberto was forced to sell all of his land to support his family. His son, who wanted to remain in the wine sector, opened a winery that bottled the wine of other producers, making a good profit. The turning point came when Roberto, who shared the same name with his grandfather, sold the winery and bought the first plots of land that were particularly suitable for winemaking. His specific objective was to give a voice to native vines with the help of innovation which, however, was aimed at quality, with moderation and simplicity of expression. Nowadays with his heirs, Tommaso and Lisa, he continues that tradition at the winery which is located in the San Carlo area of Monteforte d'Alpone, in the province of Verona.

The wines of the Anselmi winery grow in a temperate climate, near Mount Foscarini, which is the name that indicates the grand cru of Soave, at 300 metres above sea level. The vines face south and the soil, which is calcareous and of volcanic origin, characterises the strong minerality of these bottles. It is primarily the Garganega grape, introduced by the winery itself, that benefits from this peculiarity. This, together with Soave, Chardonnay and Trebbiano, are the main varieties cultivated by the Anselmi family. The grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand at two different times, in order to ensure the necessary characteristics for the success of each label. The vinification takes place purely in steel, allowing the various notes to remain unchanged once in the bottle.

The Anselmi winery is located in a municipality with a distinct winemaking tradition, to the extent that Monteforte d'Alpone has always been part of the Città del Vino association. Viticulture is the main economic activity in this area that has the highest density of wine production in the whole of Italy. In a context of strong tradition, which can often signify competitiveness, this winery stands out for the very strong technological development that has been adopted in the processing phase, which is used to emphasise the deep tradition. To avoid that the work is affected by external factors, the family has decided to adopt the screw cap for their bottles, preventing the "corky" smell. A great love that unites four generations of winemakers.
