Villa Diamante is an interesting reality from Campania located in Montefredane, in the beautiful territory of Irpinia. The project was born from the meeting between Diamante and Antoine, who decided, not only to unite their lives, but also to create an estate to produce wine. The winery was created in 1996. After Antoine's untimely death, the estate is managed by Serena Gaita with the help of her mother Diamante. Thanks to expertise and great passion, the winery was able to come to the fore in a short time, distinguishing itself in the Irpinian panorama with a production of high quality wines, which reflect very faithfully the characteristics of an area, considered by connoisseurs as a real cru, with absolutely inimitable characteristics.
The Montefredane area is located at an altitude between 400 and 550 meters above sea level. The climate is continental in character, with cool temperatures, constant ventilation that keeps the clusters healthy, and the presence of significant temperature ranges between the temperatures of sunny days and cold nights. The medium-textured, predominantly limestone-clay soils are perfect for viticulture. In these fortunate pedoclimatic conditions, Fiano has settled in well and gives grapes of excellent aromatic concentration and crystalline finesse. This very ancient white grape variety manages to combine intensity and complexity with an extraordinary mineral elegance, making it one of the most interesting and long-lived white wines of our peninsula.
The estate covers four hectares, divided into different plots, expressing different nuances of terroir. The deep knowledge of the area and the desire to make great wines has led to the production of two different labels of Fiano, an expression of two vineyards with different characteristics: 'Vigna della Congregazione' and cru Clos d'Haut'. In the countryside, the rules of organic farming are followed, with full respect for a wild environment and rich natural biodiversity. In addition to Fiano, the winery also produces Taurasi, with grapes selected from year to year in some of the most suitable areas, such as Castelfranci or Montemarano. Simple and respectful practices are used in the winery to enhance the character of the grapes. The wines express a remarkable aromatic richness and ripeness, while always retaining the clear freshness, typical of the Montefredane area.
"La vigna è la mediazione tra il suolo e la bottiglia. La capacità di un buon viticoltore deve essere quella di trasferire il terreno nel bicchiere, perché quello nessuno ce lo può rubare"
