AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA 'RUVALN' ADALIA - CAMERANI 2016 DESCRIPTION

Adalia's Amarone della Valpolicella 'Ruvaln', crafted by Marinella Camerani, is a full-bodied, well-structured interpretation brimming with typicality. Located in the Mezzane Valley, to the east of the city of Verona, the area is dedicated to cultivating olives, cherries, chestnuts, and, of course, vines. The abundance of streams that characterize this territory has long favoured a thriving agriculture and the consequent presence of settlements. This fertile environmental context gives rise to Adalia's labels, among which the prestigious Amarone 'Ruvaln' stands out. Its name is derived from an ancient Cimbrian term that means "stream," a direct reference to the numerous small rivers flowing through the area.

The Adalia - Camerani 'Ruvaln' Amarone della Valpolicella is crafted from a blend of Corvina Veronese (40%), Corvinone (40%), and Rondinella (20%), grown at an altitude of 400 meters on medium-textured limestone soils. The harvest is carried out by carefully selecting the grapes, which are then placed in a drying room for 3 months. After the drying period, the grapes are destemmed and then gently pressed, with the resulting must undergo spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks with 4 weeks of skin maceration. The subsequent ageing takes place in 25-hectoliter oak barrels for about 24 months.

Adalia - Camerani's 'Ruvaln' Amarone della Valpolicella displays an intense and deep garnet red color. The olfactory panorama is defined by enveloping and intoxicating hints of spirit-soaked fruits and sweet spices, enriched by balsamic reminiscences and toasted notes of tobacco and coffee. The taste is full-bodied, austere, and silky, with a robust, warm, and rich development supported by pleasant freshness and velvety tannins. The fruity and spicy finish is extraordinarily long.
