BARBARESCO RISERVA 'MUNCAGOTA' PRODUTTORI DEL BARBARESCO 2011 DESCRIPTION

This Riserva "Muncagota" is a Barbaresco in which intensity, depth and gracefulness coexist, giving a moment of true enjoyment. This is thanks to the great work done by the Produttori del Barbaresco winery, a production reality in which the quality-price ratio always reserves pleasant surprises, in every label, and which loves to decline the Barbaresco DOCG with different expressions. This Riserva, specifically, embodies the magic of the Piedmont Langhe, involving nose and palate with harmonious and balanced aromas and flavors. A great aging red, to be savored to the last drop.

This Barbaresco Riserva "Muncagota" comes from pure Nebbiolo grapes, a great native of the Piedmont region. The grapes of this variety are grown within the cru that gives the label its name, Muncagota, characterized by a clay and limestone soil, facing southeast. Once the grapes are harvested and brought to the winemaking facilities of the Produttori del Barbaresco winery, they alcoholically ferment in steel, macerating on the skins for 28 days, also carrying out malolactic fermentation. This is followed by aging, carried out first for 36 months in oak barrels, and then, after bottling, for another 12 months in the bottle.

"Muncagota" is a Barbaresco Riserva that, in the glass, announces itself with a very bright color, reminiscent of garnet tones. The bouquet of scents that envelops the nose tells of layered notes, which from small red fruit and hints of violet, veer towards tertiary touches, where leather, leather and sweet spices alternate in a dance of intertwined nuances. In the mouth it is full-bodied, structured and austere, with a sip marked by a pleasant freshness and a texture in which the tannins flow velvety. A red signed by one of the reference wineries for this DOCG, the Produttori del Barbaresco, a cooperative that year after year confirms itself as a name of absolute guarantee in the Piedmontese wine scene.
