BARBERA D'ALBA 'FRANCIA' GIACOMO CONTERNO 2020 DESCRIPTION

"Francia" is a Barbera d'Alba by Giacomo Conterno that comes from a real cru, where the Barbera grape has the opportunity to grow with optimal conditions, bringing healthy and ripe bunches to harvest. The nose is dominated by a range of fruity touches, which open to a warm and hearty sip, where the alcohol level makes itself felt, despite the fresh imprint that envelops the palate. A prestigious label, which on the table needs equally high-level pairings to make the most of it. If you have friends who are passionate about Piedmontese Barberas, you will make them beyond happy with this bottle.

This "Francia" is a Barbera d'Alba that comes from a particularly well-suited vineyard located near the town of Serralunga d'Alba. Between the rows every work is carried out with rigor, taking care to execute it with precision in the smallest details, from pruning to defoliation. The bunches of grapes, harvested by hand during the grape harvest, are taken to the Giacomo Conterno winery premises, where they are de-stemmed. The resulting berries are sent to the press and the must vinifies in steel. After 20 months spent maturing in large barrels, the wine is finally ready to be bottled.

Barbera d'Alba "Francia" Giacomo Conterno presents itself visually with a ruby red color. The fruit announces itself on the nose with dominant sensations, which slowly, on the final olfactory analysis, gives way to slightly more mineral scents. On the palate it has a good body, muscular, balanced, flowing on the palate with a sip marked by a pleasantly fresh vein, which lightens its impact. A Barbera of a superior level, which will win the palates of all enthusiasts after having already convinced that of the main national sector critics.
