"Ronco Bernizza" is a Chardonnay from the Friulian Collio with a fresh and enveloping personality. Notes of exotic fruit, citrus, Mediterranean herbs, and marine sensations enliven a medium-structured and intense body, endowed with vibrant freshness and perfect balance.

The Chardonnay “Ronco Bernizza” from the famous Friulian winery Venica is an intense, rich, and fresh white wine that perfectly expresses the character of the terroir of Collio Goriziano. This small corner at the eastern tip of our peninsula has always been famous for producing some of the finest whites, both from indigenous and international grape varieties. In particular, Chardonnay offers a wine of great elegance and aromatic persistence.

The Chardonnay “Ronco Bernizza” is one of the best labels from the Venica estate. The vineyards are located in the Dolegna del Collio area and cover a total of 40 hectares, divided into various plots situated on hills with different exposures and microclimates, allowing for the cultivation of each variety in the most suitable location. The soils consist of marls and sandstones of Eocene origin, called ponca in the Friulian dialect. They are crumbly, very draining soils rich in minerals, particularly suitable for viticulture. The favorable environmental conditions, combined with careful work in vineyard and in the cellar, have made Venica wines one of the best excellences of the territory. The Chardonnay grapes come from the vineyards of the cru “Ronco Bernizza” and after the harvest, they undergo a pre-fermentation maceration of 12-14 hours at low temperatures in containers protected from oxygen. 30% of the mass ferments and ages for 5 months in large wooden barrels and the rest in steel.

The white Chardonnay “Ronco Bernizza” is a wine with a territorial profile, a splendid expression of the great Burgundy grape variety in Friulian land. In the glass, it has a straw yellow color with brilliant golden reflections. The bouquet expresses floral aromas, citrus notes, yellow fruit, hints of tropical fruit, herbal notes, and iodized nuances. The sip is fresh, intensely aromatic and rich, with a savory and mineral finish.
