“Is Solinas” is a full-bodied Sardinian red wine form Carignano grapes, born from sapling vines and aged in French oak barrels. It has a deep and seductive bouquet of black fruits, liquorice, spices and herbs. The flavour is smooth and structured, with a good freshness and long savoury aromas
Argiolas' "Is Solinas" can be considered a red synthesis of Sardinian land. It is, in fact, a blend of different grapes linked to the local winemaking tradition. This wine aims to be engaging and enjoyable, suitable for important occasions and everyday enjoyment. The grapes destined for Is Solinas come from vineyards located in the homonymous area of Sulcis, characterized by predominantly sandy soils with the presence of clays and limestone. It's a Sardinian red that comes directly from the coast, from the beaches known for their stunning sea and made fascinating by the fragrant Mediterranean scrub that is often also found in the wines.
Argiolas Is Solinas is a red wine made from 95% Carignano and a small percentage of Bovale, two native varieties. The grapes, rigorously hand-harvested, are transported to the cellar and crushed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel tanks, while the subsequent malolactic fermentation occurs in concrete containers. About 12 months in barriques and an additional period of bottle ageing conclude the refinement period before it is released for sale.
The "Is Solinas" Red is ruby red, with reflections still tending towards violet. Its aroma is intense and characterized by ripe and jammy fruits. Spicy notes are perceived both on the nose and in the mouth, inserted in a fruity aroma and a soft sip. Full-bodied with velvety tannins caressing the palate, it leaves a beautiful persistence. "Is Solinas" is a wine to always have in the cellar: its chameleon-like adaptability to any type of meal makes it a precious element.
