The Orange from the Krasno line is a white wine blend of grapes from the Slovenian winery Klet Brda. It is a great expression of the territory, with a light maceration that gives it its copper color with amber hues. The sip is fresh and mineral, with gentle tannins and a persistent aftertaste. On the nose, it releases aromas of cooked fruit like apple and pear and hints of thyme

“Krasno” by Klet Brda is the label that best represents the ancient tradition of the Goriška Brda region, the continuation in Slovenian land of the Collio Goriziano. It is a blend made from the white grape varieties historically present in these lands, in order to obtain a harmonious and balanced wine. The vinification with a skin maceration, according to local customs, gives the wine a remarkable richness and aromatic intensity, a deep and persistent character that calls for important pairings with white meats, semi-aged cheeses, or rich-flavored baked fish.

“Krasno” is born from the long experience of the Klet Brda winery, which collects and vinifies the grapes from small local suppliers. Thanks to the mild and breezy climate and the soils composed of sedimentary sandstones and limestone marls, the area has been vocated for centuries for the cultivation of white grape varieties. The Ribolla, Sauvignonasse, and Malvasia vines are about 15-30 years old and are located on terraces at an altitude between 120 and 250 meters above

sea level, with exposure facing southeast and southwest. The harvest is carried out strictly by hand and the vinifications occur separately for each variety. The Ribolla ferments on the skins for 12 months in wooden barrels, while the Sauvignonasse and Malvasia for one month in stainless steel tanks. The wines then mature for 12 months, the Ribolla in wood also undergoing malolactic fermentation, the Sauvignonasse and Malvasia in steel with a partial malolactic fermentation. After bottling, the wine ages for a few months in the bottle before commercialization.

The Orange wine “Krasno” by Klet Brda is characterized by a strong personality and thanks to the maceration, it has a good structure and excellent aging potential. Pleasant to drink immediately, it can be safely stored in the cellar for 5-6 years. It presents itself with a coppery orange hue enriched by light amber nuances. The olfactory profile is intense and rich, with aromas of ripe white fruit, apple, baked pear, quince, hints of citrus peel, and nuances of aromatic herbs from the

Mediterranean scrub. The sip is broad and deep, with dense and mature aromas, harmonious and fruity, which lead to a long and persistent finish, with a savory and slightly tannic closure.
