The “Le Maset de Lumet” from Domaine La Coume-Lumet is a red wine vinified in steel, fresh and easy to drink, characteristics enhanced by the altitude of the vineyards, which is quite high for the region. The nose perceives the ubiquitous aromas of red berries, while the finish prevails with spicy tones, like pepper. On the palate, it presents a pleasant fattiness, which enhances the roundness and softness on the sip, and in the finish, it is decidedly fresh. A perfect wine for an aperitif or to accompany fish with tomato sauce

La Coume-Lumet offers through “Le Maset de Lumet” an immediate and tasty expression of the terroir of the Domaine: the spicy and mature varietal notes blend perfectly with the freshness of the high altitude, in an everyday bottle of excellent value.

Domaine La Coume-Lumet produces its “Le Maset de Lumet” by vinifying a blend of international varieties that have found an extremely suitable landscape within the 17 hectares of vineyards of the estate, stretching at about 350 meters above sea level. Syrah, Malbec, and Merlot ripen thanks to a typically Mediterranean climate, where oceanic influences still stand out, on the slopes rolling down towards the Aude valley, the river that flows just south, a few dozen kilometers from the historic city of Carcassonne. The soils show an origin from ancient glacial moraines, scattered with sands derived from the crushing of Pyrenean rocks and dotted with the so-called galets, round and smooth pebbles of calcareous composition. The management is based on the system of reasoned struggle, attested by adherence to the environmental sustainability program Terra Vitis, since 2013. The harvest is done by hand at the moment of perfect ripeness of the fruits: the fermentation is spontaneous and takes place in stainless steel containers. In the same steel tanks, after the racking, maturation is carried out for a few months, concluding the cycle with a bottle aging of at least 8 months. The winemaking processes are carried out avoiding invasive manipulations and with an extremely low use of sulfur.

“Le Maset de Lumet” from Domaine La Coume-Lumet offers a ruby red appearance, with youthful purple reflections. The nose is introduced by a bright and luscious fruitiness where forest berries and raspberry stand out, in accordance with dark spicy nuances, like black pepper. On the palate, it is round and pleasantly oily, a structure balanced by the taut freshness, characteristic of the altitude of the vineyards. A red for companionship and dining, which pairs well with summer appetizers, such as an eggplant caviar, or simply a grilled steak.
