Pet Nat 'L'Enlevage' Domaine Hadrien Houbert 2021
Artisanal
Exclusive wineryDomaine Hadrien Houbert's 'L'Enlevage' is a Pet Nat from only Gamay grapes produced in the “Beaujolais Villages” plot in Burgundy. After a three-week maceration and alcoholic fermentation in stoneware amphorae, the result is a fresh, fine sparkling wine with full, juicy fruit, excellent with light dishes, seafood and poultry. A slightly mineral Pet Nat with notes of strawberry, plum and raspberry perfect for a warm summer evening!
The Domaine Hadrien Houbert presents the Pet-Nat ‘L’Enlevage’, an original interpretation of Gamay produced through winemaking in sandstone amphorae and subsequent refermentation in the bottle. The winemaker Hadrien Houbert embarked on his winemaking project in the Beaujolais region in 2020, the year he started by renting 3 hectares of vineyards scattered in some of the most suitable crus of the area. The foundations that guide Hadrien's production are sustainability, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, and transparency in the winemaking process, during which the vigneron aims to respect the expression of the territory as much as possible.
The ‘L’Enlevage’ Domaine Hadrien Houbert Pet-Nat originates from pure Gamay grapes cultivated according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture within a single plot located in the Beaujolais Villages area, specifically in the municipality of Romanèche-Thorins. Following the harvest, the bunches are vinified through alcoholic fermentation in amphorae of sandstone associated with a long maceration of 3 weeks. This is followed by a light sparkling in the bottle according to the Ancestral Method, with the dégorgement being carried out à la volée. After a few months of resting in the bottle, this pet-nat is finally ready for market release.
The Pet-Nat ‘L’Enlevage’ from Domaine Hadrien Houbert has a brilliant light pink color with subtle garnet hues. The nose expresses inviting fruity notes of strawberry, plum, raspberry, gooseberry, and pomegranate, with evocative winey hints in the background. On the palate, it stands out for its freshness and finesse, with a subtle effervescence that gives liveliness to the sip, enhancing the fruity and slightly mineral finish, which is very pleasant.
