The ‘Tinto Familia’ Rioja Crianza Tempranillo Leza Garcia is a full-bodied and flavorful red wine that reflects the typicality of the Rioja Alta territory, famous for the quality of its wines. La Rioja was the first DOCa ever established in Spain in 1991 and is now accompanied only by Priorat, another prominent wine region in the country. Within the Rioja denomination, which is composed of approximately 75% red wines, four levels are distinguished, differentiated based on the time the wine has spent in wooden barrels, a very important factor for the local tradition. In particular, the classification includes Joven, Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva wines, in increasing order of time spent in wood.
The Tempranillo Rioja Crianza ‘Tinto Familia’ from the Leza Garcia winery is a 100% Tempranillo made from a selection of the best grapes from the oldest vineyards of the estate. After harvesting, the grapes are transferred to the winery and fermented in small stainless steel tanks where the fermentation takes place in contact with the skins. Once the fermentation process is completed, the liquid is transferred to new American oak barrels for aging for 14 months before bottling and further resting in glass prior to its final market release.
The color of the Rioja Tempranillo Crianza ‘Tinto Familia’ Leza Garcia is intense garnet red. From the glass emerge intense aromas of ripe plum, berries, vanilla, and cocoa, while on the palate the wine reveals remarkable structure and full body, with velvety tannins and a enveloping taste sensation. This Rioja Crianza is the perfect companion for succulent main courses based on red meats or aged cheeses.
