The Roero Rosso Bajaj is a warm and intense red wine, based on Nebbiolo. After aging for 8 months in wood and at least a year in bottle, the result is a structured and enveloping wine, with material and velvety tannins and a long persistence on the palate, where notes of ripe red fruit stand out, returning to the nose embraced by pleasant spicy nuances. Excellent to drink immediately, but it can evolve over time in the cellar, gaining softness and elegance.

Bajaj Roero Rosso represents a bottle of commendable complexity and harmony, an authentic expression of the Roero territory. The family-run winery Bajaj labeled its first Roero Rosso with the 2015 vintage, represented by just 300 produced bottles. Instead, with the 2019 vintage, the bottles produced increased to 2,400, behind which lies the hard work and commitment of the Moretti family in cultivating the steep vineyards of the Geographical Indication of Bric Nota, where the oldest vines of the estate are located. In addition to the steep slopes, the friable nature of the soil and the density of the planting require almost exclusively manual labor.

The Roero Rosso by Bajaj is produced with only Nebbiolo grapes grown within the Bric Nota plot, in the municipality of Monteu Roero. The plants, aged between 50 and 90 years, rest on sandy soils and are cultivated according to the principles of guided agriculture. In the winery, the bunches are destemmed and crushed, and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with the aid of a pied de cuve. Upon reaching the peak temperature, a delestage is performed in a temperature-controlled steel tank for one night. Fermentation continues in contact with the skins and is accompanied by frequent pump-overs and rackings. Subsequently, the mass is transferred into medium-toasted French oak barriques with multiple uses, where it matures for 8 months. After an additional year of aging in bottle, the wine is finally ready for market release.

The Roero Rosso Bajaj is a bright garnet red color. Deep notes of cherry, ripe plum, and berries characterize the olfactory profile, accompanied by delicate spicy nuances on the finish. Soft, intense, and structured taste development, with a lively fresh-salty verve and a velvety and elegant tannic texture.
