The Rosé “Gris Blanc” by Gérard Bertrand is the iconic label of this type of wine, perfectly crafted according to the Provençal model that has won over enthusiasts around the world. It is a fragrant, floral, and savory wine that evokes the marine atmospheres of the Mediterranean coast. It is produced with pure Grenache, the red grape variety typical of southern France, which has a pleasantly fruity character. It is a simple and carefree Rosé, light and immediate, what the French often refer to as “a pool wine,” to be enjoyed in informal moments with friends for the pure pleasure of sharing a good glass.
The “Gris Blanc” Rosé is produced by one of the most esteemed vignerons in France. Gérard Bertrand, after closing his rugby career, decided to return to his homeland to manage the family estate in Corbières. After several years of apprenticeship, towards the end of the 1980s, he took the reins of the estate with the intent of creating great wines. The Grenache vineyards are mainly found in the Tautavel region, in the area between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea, characterized by a very sunny, dry, and breezy climate. The harvest is carried out manually, and the best bunches are gently pressed in protection from oxygen to avoid oxidation and preserve the fragrance of the varietal aromatic profile. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures of 15-18 °C. Before bottling, the wine is aged on fine lees in steel tanks for a few weeks.
The Rosé “Gris Blanc” by Gérard Bertrand is a refined and elegant label that represents the style of the winery and the typical character of the territory. A delicate rosé with great expressive finesse, it presents a very light color with bright reflections. On the nose, it is characterized by floral scents, citrus aromas of lime zest, grapefruit, cantaloupe, pomegranate, raspberry, and red currant, enriched by subtle hints of aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrub. On the palate is smooth and fragrant, clear and savory, with a finish of remarkable freshness.
