VERMENTINO 'COSTAMOLINO' ARGIOLAS 2022 DESCRIPTION

The "Costamolino" of Argiolas is one of the most representative white wines of Sardinia. It is made from pure Vermentino grapes and is a testament in liquid form to the splendid work carried out by the Argiolas family, one of the best-known wineries not only on the island, but of the entire Italian wine production. The ancient history of the Argiolas winery dates back to the early 1900s with the ownership of small vineyard plots around Serdiana, in the province of Cagliari. The far-sightedness in exploiting local vines, such as Vermentino, Cannonau and Carignano, to the detriment of international varieties, combined with passion and entrepreneurial skills, allowed the winery to expand its vineyard holdings to the approximately 200 hectares today.

Vermentino 'Costamolino' is born on gentle slopes that are influenced by Sardinia's Mediterranean climate, made up of mild winters and warm summers. Careful selection of the grapes is followed by fermentation and brief refinement in steel on fine lees before bottling.

'Costamolino' is light in colour, tending towards straw yellow with greenish highlights. The aromatic profile is quite varied and focuses on delicate notes of exotic fruit and citrus fruits. On tasting, it reveals great finesse and captivates with its ease of sip, due to the perfect combination of freshness and savouriness. One of its best qualities is its ability to best accompany a wide variety of dishes, such as simple fish-based starters, seafood salads, fish-based first courses, low to medium-aged cheeses, grilled fish and white meats. In short, an everyday wine par excellence, to be hoarded.
