The passion that has been handed down from generation to generation and the desire to not omologate the fashions. These are the strengths of the winery Donato Angiuli, a small but historical reality that turns wine from Puglia native vines in great quality wines, following the mission of respect for the terroir. We are located between the countryside of Adelfia and that of Acquaviva delle Fonti, in the heart of the wine growing area of production of DOP Primitivo Gioia del Colle, one of the names most valuable and important in our territory. And from here that, in 1880, originated this delicious cellar, with the cultivation of grapes exclusively primitive; today the company is led by Donato Angiuli, with the valuable collaboration of the sons Vito and Giuseppe. Philosophy, from 1880 to the present, has remained unchanged: the terroir must be respected, hence the importance and the desire to cultivate indigenous varieties that blend well with the nature of the soil and microclimate. Donato Angiuli gave birth to the brand Maccone, the “special line” in his cellar, wines whose grapes come from old plants a sapling with an average age between 50 and 80 years old, producing few bunches per vine and intensifying greatly increasing the quality of the finished product are wines that are bottled after two years of aging in concrete tanks, following a harvest performed manually to ensure the integrity of the individual berries and after a fermentation that uses only native yeasts present on the same pruna grapes. Donato Angiuli: a small, but historic reality of Puglia that is really worth to try and learn.
