La Maison Romane

In the heart of the Côte d'Or, among the legendary slopes of Nuits-Saint-Georges, La Maison Romane is the brainchild of Oronce de Beler, a négociant who has chosen to tell the story of Burgundy with respect and passion. Born in 1978, after years spent among the palaces of Paris, Oronce moved to the Côte de Nuits where he brought his project to life. Oronce does not own any vineyards but has been working with the same winegrowers for almost twenty years, selecting grapes from living soils, cultivated organically and biodynamically. His secret? Relationships based on trust and an obsessive pursuit of quality. Since 2005, the year of his first wine, each bottle bears the signature of an artisanal method, where manual harvesting and rigorous selection of the grapes are only the beginning of a process that enhances the authenticity of the terroir.

In the vineyard, La Maison Romane's philosophy is clear: absolute respect for nature and minimal intervention. The clay-limestone soils, between 200 and 300 metres above sea level, produce grapes rich in personality, grown without chemicals and harvested at the perfect moment. In the cellar, Oronce follows an almost ascetic approach: spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, whole bunch vinification and ageing in used oak barrels for 12 months. No filtration, no clarification, just time and patience to let the wine express itself. The result? Lively, vibrant wines that speak of Burgundy without filters.

The wines of La Maison Romane reflect the soul of the Côte d'Or. Pinot Noir wines such as Bourgogne Rouge and Côte de Nuits Rouge are characterised by their elegance, while the Grand Crus are exemplary in terms of complexity and structure, hallmarks of the greatness of the region's red wines. This Domaine tells the story of historic vineyards and a unique territory through its bottles. Each glass is an invitation to discover the most authentic Burgundy.
