Tenuta Cavalier Pepe
In the heart of Irpinia, among the hills of Sant’Angelo all’Esca, lies Tenuta Cavalier Pepe, a family winery that has dedicated its existence to viticulture for generations. The story is rooted in the ancient Irpinian tradition of the Pepes, but finds its turning point in the entrepreneurial courage of Angelo Pepe, who was appointed Knight of the Republic in 1998 for his work merits. He is the one who shapes an ambitious and modern project, creating a complex that combines winery, wine company, restaurant, and hospitality. Today, the leadership is entrusted to Milena Pepe, a winemaker with a volcanic personality who studied in France and Belgium. Today, the estate is a full example of the meeting between deep roots and contemporary drive, a production and tourism system of extraordinary quality in the heart of the main wine-growing area of Campania.
The property of Tenuta Cavalier Pepe extends over 70 hectares of vineyards, accompanied by olive groves and hazelnut groves, cultivated in respect of the natural balance of the territory. The grapes, hand-picked and carefully selected, are primarily vinified in steel at controlled temperature.controlled. The great reds mature in barriques and large barrels of French and Slavonian oak before completing maturation in cement. Alongside the wood, there are also clay and ceramic amphorae, capable of ensuring a delicate micro-oxygenation without boisé interference. A production philosophy that combines tradition, innovation, and precision agriculture, with constant monitoring of yields and eco-friendly technologies.
The wines of Tenuta Cavalier Pepe clearly express the character of Irpinia. Each label is created to enhance the tasting peculiarities of the territory, maintaining recognizability and authenticity. Wines with a strong identity, capable of uniting elegance, structure, and a vocation for the table that makes them protagonists at the table and over time.
