The Brentino by Maculan is a red wine with a Bordeaux blend from the Veneto area of Breganze, in the province of Vicenza. It ages for 12 months in stainless steel tanks and French oak barriques, revealing an aromatic bouquet reminiscent of ripe dark fruit, such as cherries and plums, and oriental spices, interlaced with vanilla notes.

The “Brentino” by Maculan is a Venetian red with an intense profile and good structure. It is a classic Bordeaux blend made with a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The two French grape varieties, present in the Venetian lands since the distant 1800s, have found in the magnificent hilly territory of Breganze a perfect habitat to express themselves at interesting quality levels.

The Maculan “Brentino” from the Venetian winery comes from vineyards cultivated in the estate, which is located north of the city of Vicenza. A magnificent hilly area that rises from Breganze towards the Asiago plateau. The area is protected to the north by the Alpine chain and can enjoy beautiful sunny and ventilated exposures. The ancient volcanic soils are rich in tuff and minerals, perfect for the needs of the vine. Thanks to a particularly favorable environmental context and Fausto Maculan's boundless passion for great wines, the estate has managed to establish itself as one of the most important excellences of the territory. The harvest is carried out manually with selection in the vineyard of the best clusters. The grapes are then sent for fermentation in stainless steel tanks with skin maceration. Before being bottled, the wine matures for a period of 12 months, partly in steel tanks and partly in French oak barriques.

The “Brentino” from the Maculan winery is a medium-bodied wine that expresses the vocation of the Breganze land for the cultivation of the most famous international grape varieties. The softness of the Merlot pairs well with the elegance and structure of the Cabernet Sauvignon. The color is intense ruby red. On the nose, it opens with aromas of cherry, small forest fruits, and delicately spicy, vanilla, and oaky notes. The sip is rich and enveloping, with a fine tannic texture and a balanced finish.
