Chianti Classico labelled Vallepicciola is a Tuscan red wine whose class lies in its ability to bring to light the most typical traits of the appellation to which it belongs. The scent of wilted violets, typical of Sangiovese, envelops a fruity and juicy nose, while in the mouth flows a fluid sip, dominated by a pleasant tannic grip. A label born in the light of the strong link between the grape variety used and the territory, and which is proposed as one of the most representative of the entire area.
This Chianti Classico comes from the use of the pure grapes of a variety that well represents the Tuscan winemaking potential in the world, Sangiovese. The VallePicciola winery grows it in vineyards located near Pievasciata and Castelnuovo Berardenga, about 400 meters above sea level. Here the terroir is characterized by a mainly limestone and clay subsoil. The must ferments in small steel vats at a controlled temperature, carrying out malolactic fermentation later in French oak barrels. Final aging lasts for 12 months, and takes place in large barrels; at the end of this period the wine is bottled and marketed.
Chianti Classico made by the Vallepicciola winery reveals itself to the eye with a ruby red color, dense, concentrated and deep. The olfactory profile is intense, outlining a progression of fruity notes and dried flowers, enriched by returns of aromatic herbs and sweet spices. On the palate it is medium-bodied, elegant, endowed with a refined fresh sip, which outlines a tannin that is yes important, but never to the detriment of the overall harmony that reigns during tasting. A label that, just with this vintage, puts in agreement the main critics of the sector, not only national.
