Nizza from the Piedmontese winery Ricossa is a pure Barbera, tasty and smooth and able to satisfy every palate. This label is created through a careful selection of grapes and a long refinement of 18 months, 6 of which in wooden barrels, which give it unique and intense aromas. The colour is an intense ruby red with violet reflections that turn into garnet hues over the years, the nose has balsamic and spicy notes. The taste is ample, warm, velvety and with a very long finish

The Nizza Ricossa is a pure Barbera of remarkable quality. It represents the highest expression of the grape variety produced by the historic winery of Castel Boglione, located in the heart of the Asti lands. The Nizza denomination was introduced starting from the 2014 vintage to enhance and elevate the production of this area of the territory, where the grape variety has always expressed itself at excellent levels. The particular pedoclimatic conditions and a vineyard management with low yields allow for an intense and concentrated red, endowed with remarkable structure, taste persistence, and longevity. A great red that honors one of the oldest and most characteristic grapes of this area of Piemonte.

The Nizza wine is produced by an important reality of the Asti territory. Before dedicating themselves to the world of wine, the Ricossa family managed a distillery, leveraging the rich availability of pomace guaranteed by one of the most vocated areas in Italy for grape cultivation. Today, they manage a magnificent estate of 80 hectares near Castel Boglione, with vineyards cultivated on the splendid hills of the area between Nizza Monferrato and Acqui Terme. The calcareous-clay soils and the particularly mild, sunny, and breezy climate have constituted a perfect habitat for red grape varieties for centuries, especially for the historical grape of the territory: Barbera. The best clusters selected in the vineyard are fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature with a long maceration on the skins. The wine matures for a total period of 18 months, of which 6 in wood.

The Barbera Nizza produced by the Ricossa winery is a bottle that allows you to fully appreciate all the qualities of the grape variety. In the glass, it presents itself with a rather dark ruby red color with purple reflections. The bouquet is characterized by intense and complex aromas, reminiscent of small berries, blackberry, wild strawberries, red currant, ripe cherry, enriched by hints of vanilla, soft oriental spices, licorice root, bitter cocoa, and balsamic herbs.
