Cannonau "Costera" by Argiolas is a structured red wine from Cagliari. The scents are characterized by notes of red fruits and myrtle with a spicy final. The taste is balanced and smooth, with vibrant freshness and good tannins
Argiolas' 'Costera' is a sincere and satisfying expression of Sardinia's most famous red grape variety, the Cannonau. It is an everyday wine that does not renounce charm and complexity. Perfect knowledge of the terroir, combined with environmental sustainability and excellent winemaking practices, results in bottles of the highest quality standards.
Costera' comes from a selection of Cannonau vines on limestone-clay soils. After an initial fermentation at a controlled temperature and malolactic fermentation in vitrified vats, it matures in small oak casks for 8-10 months and ends with a short period in the bottle. The Mediterranean and extremely generous climate of Sardinia results in a red wine that fully reflects the warmth and strength of its land.
The Cannonau 'Costera', as soon as it is poured into the glass, shows its ruby colour with garnet hues. The nose, a faithful portrayal of its place of origin, contrasts a vinous and jovial aspect of cherry and red fruit with a more serious and complex one that recalls vanilla and toasted notes. A compact and soft, extremely flowing palate that captivates by virtue of a seductive tactility. It satisfies when paired with richly seasoned first courses or with territorial products such as mature Pecorino cheese and grilled meats. Territory speaks in a glass.
