Ca' dei Frati

Lugana 'Brolettino' Ca' dei Frati 2022

The Brolettino is a Lugana of great depth that is aged for 10 months in barriques. This ageing in wood increases the structure and softness of the wine, which on the nose shows notes of ripe yellow fruit, nuances of roses and a balsamic finish. In the mouth it does not lose its freshness and elegance and offers a full and persistent sip

LUGANA 'BROLETTINO' CA' DEI FRATI 2022 DESCRIPTION

The Ca' dei Frati Lugana 'Brolettino' is a bottle of noteworthy balance and pleasantness, a pure expression of the indigenous Turbiana grape variety, otherwise known as Trebbiano di Lugana and Trebbiano di Soave in the Veneto region of the same name. After several ampelographic and genetic studies, it was ascertained that this variety is a clone of Verdicchio, a renowned white grape of Marche origin. The 'Brolettino' is undoubtedly one of the estate's most representative labels, strongly linked to its area of origin.

Lugana 'Brolettino' from Ca' dei Frati is made exclusively from Trebbiano di Lugana grapes grown on calcareous-clayey soils, with the bunches being harvested when fully ripe and then subjected to a gentle pressing. The must thus obtained is conveyed into steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation begins at a controlled temperature, a process that is concluded in Oak barriques where malolactic fermentation also takes place. The subsequent maturation phase, which lasts 10 months, also takes place in barriques and the wine is finally bottled and left to rest for a short period before release.

On visual examination, the 'Brolettino' Lugana from the Lombardy estate Ca' dei Frati presents itself with a straw-yellow hue with golden flashes. The aromatic range opens on hints of ripe fruit such as peach, melon and yellow apple, combined with hints of pineapple and citrus fruits as well as perceptions of vanilla and toasted almond. The balance on the palate is excellent between the soft, enveloping body and lively freshness, with a savoury finish played on pleasant sensations of tropical fruit. The producer himself suggests pairing this white wine with legume soups, rich seafood dishes, medium-aged cheeses or even white meats and poultry.
