MALVASIA BORGO SAN DANIELE 2021 DESCRIPTION

The Malvasia by Borgo San Daniele is a Friulian wine that originates in the farmlands of the village of the same name near Gorizia. The siblings Alessandra and Mauro Mauri successfully run the family business, inherited from their grandfather in 1990. Their love and passion for the art of winemaking guide them daily in the production of high level wines that are at the same time also respectful of the surrounding ecosystem: their work philosophy follows the dictates of biodynamic agriculture, deciding to dedicate themselves to the cultivation of indigenous vines to enhance the beauty of this territory. The simple yet elegant label bears the surname of the two brothers as a signature on the product.

The vineyards of Borgo San Daniele's Malvasia are cultivated with minimal human intervention: pesticides, herbicides and synthetic substances are banned, preferring dandelion and nettle infusions that can give the soil a boost, making it flourishing and suitable for vine growth. Every decision that is made to process the plants and raw material is calibrated and considered, for wines of impeccable quality. The grapes are harvested by hand and the bunches are kept whole during the initial processing phases; it ferments in steel where it also matures for several months,

This Malvasia made by Borgo San Daniele presents itself in the glass as straw yellow with brilliant reflections. The bouquet of aromas is reminiscent of flowers, fresh yellow-fleshed fruit and a hint of mineral on the finish with a hint of ginger; on the palate it is soft and fruity with a good aromatic character. In pairing it is multifaceted, although it is at its best with delicate white meat dishes or steamed fish; also interesting with vegetarian dishes and fresh cheeses. It is an excellent wine to be enjoyed throughout a meal with lifelong friends for summer aperitifs by the sea or for light-hearted lunches in cheerfulness, sipping a product that has all the explosiveness of the Friulian land and its intrinsic potential.
