NERELLO MASCALESE 'DIECIDECILITRI' BONACCORSI - VALCERASA 2019 - 100CL DESCRIPTION

The Nerello Mascalese "DieciDecilitri" by Valcerasa originates at the foot of the Etna volcano on the beautiful Sicilian island. The Bonaccorsi family has worked these lands since time immemorial, territories located in Val Cerasa, the 'cherry valley'. From generation to generation, passion for the work and the preservation of tradition have been handed down in order to preserve the excellent quality of the final products. Since 2000, Alice Bonaccorsi and her husband Rosario have been working steadily in this direction, deciding to expand production with the purchase of a new piece of land in order to create a farm.

Valcerasa's Nerello Mascalese "DieciDecilitri" grapes grow at an altitude of around 900 metres above sea level on about 20 hectares of land entirely planted with vines. The vines are cultivated organically, with total respect for the natural growth and development phases of the raw material; intervention in the vineyard is reduced to a minimum, banning any synthetic chemicals or pesticides. The soil is predominantly composed of sand and lava stone responsible for elegant wines with special aromas. Once manual harvesting is complete, alcoholic fermentation takes place in the cellar thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts, and the wine is then aged for a few months in steel.

The colour of Valcerasa's "DieciDecilitri" Nerello Mascalese is a ruby red with intense purple hues. On the nose it presents aromas of red berry fruit, spices and damp earth; on the palate it is fresh, elegant and drinkable with an interesting finish. It goes perfectly with traditional mixed cold cuts, grilled red meat cuts and first courses dressed with seasonal vegetables. Excellent for barbecues with lifelong friends during carefree summer evenings, enjoying a genuine product that is the result of meticulous and careful work.
