Corte del Lupo' is a Curtefranca Bianco, produced by one of the most important and famous names in Franciacorta. In addition to Metodo Classico sparkling wines, Ca' del Bosco also makes high-quality still wines. This is an elegant and refined blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco, two grapes traditionally grown in the Franciacorta area, vinified partly in steel and partly in wood. A well-structured, intense and complex white wine that combines rich and evolved aromas with freshness and minerality.
Corte del Lupo is produced from the vines cultivated on the estate of the famous Ca' del Bosco winery. It comes from a selection of the best plots that historically produce high quality grapes: 9 Chardonnay vines of around 30 years old located in Erbusco and Cazzago San Martino and 2 Pinot Bianco vines of 25 years old cultivated in the commune of Passirano. The elegant fruity notes of the Chardonnay blend perfectly with the aromatic finesse of the Pinot Bianco, creating a wine of great harmony of flavour. The harvest takes place towards the end of August, with manual selection in the vineyard of only the best bunches, which are washed and dried before vinification. The fermentation of the free-run must takes place ¼ in small oak barrels and the rest in stainless steel vats. After six months of maturation on the lees, the wine is finally blended and bottled by gravity and in the absence of oxygen contact. Before release, the wine matures for 3 months in the bottle.
Curtefranca Bianco "Corte del Lupo" is not only an excellence but also an exception in the Franciacorta region, now almost exclusively devoted to sparkling wines. It is a classy white that complements Ca' del Bosco's Metodo Classico production, confirming the high overall value of the winery's production. In the glass it has a brilliant straw yellow colour with luminous golden reflections. The olfactory profile is rich and multifaceted, with aromas of ripe fruit, tropical hints and soft notes of citrus honey. On the palate it has good body, with dense depth of flavour, a rich, enveloping mouthfeel that dissolves into a lingering finish of savoury mineral freshness.
