The Gewurztraminer of the Endrizzi winery is an aromatic, intense and enveloping white wine produced in the area of Masetto, in San Michele all'Adige in the province of Trento, from one of the oldest wineries in Trentino. It is made from 100% Gewurztraminer grapes, also known as Traminer Aromatico, from the Masetto and Maso Kinderleit vineyards. The vineyards are cultivated with guyot on hills with porphyry and carbonate soils characterized by significant temperature differences between day and night. The winery, family-run for four generations, is now managed by Paolo Endrici and his wife Christine, architect of German origin who designed the new areas of the winery with great attention to the landscape and to the environmental sustainability.
Endrizzi's Gewurztraminer is produced from grapes harvested by hand, exclusively at the time of their full phenolic maturation, in order to increase the aromatic component. Taken to the cellar, the bunches are pressed and the must obtained is macerated for a few hours in steel tanks, before the actual fermentation takes place. At the end of the process the skins are discarded and the must carries out the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel containers at a controlled temperature. The wine is then racked and aged in stainless steel on its lees for some months with frequent batonnage.
Endrizzi’s Gewurztraminer has an intense straw yellow color with golden hues, making it very elegant and attractive. To the nose it's intensely aromatic with scents of tropical fruit reminiscent of litchi and floral notes of rose, spicy hints, including pepper and cloves and nuances of wild herbs. The mouthfeel is soft, enveloping and full-bodied. The finish is long, persistent and slightly almondy. A beautiful, persuasive and feminine expression.
