LUGANA 'OASI MANTELLINA' ALLEGRINI 2021 DESCRIPTION

Allegrini's Lugana 'Oasi Mantellina' is an everyday white with a smooth drinkability and deep minerality, born from the new project of the well-known Valpolicella winery. In fact, this white wine was born out of the indomitable desire of the Allegrini family, producers of extraordinary reds in Valpolicella, to take on a different area such as Pozzolengo in the Brescia area, and to provide their own interpretation of the local indigenous grape varieties. The result is a wine that is convivial and extremely enjoyable, that sums up the essence of the place clearly, and depending on the vintage is more pulpy or essential. Environmental sustainability and organic farming allow the grapes to express themselves at their best, shaped also by the stylistic signature of one of Italy's most representative and authoritative wineries. Absolute certainty.

The white 'Oasi Mantellina' is produced almost entirely from Turbiana grapes, known locally as Trebbiano di Lugana, plus a tiny balance of Cortese. The vineyards, resting on soils rich in clay, are located in the municipality of Pozzolengo, and are harvested by hand with careful selection of the bunches. In the cellar, alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel vats and the wine is aged for 4 months in the same containers, followed by 2 months in the bottle.

The wine "Oasi Mantellina" presents itself in the glass with a light straw colour, edged with greenish reflections. The nose is whispery and subdued, where delicate hints of linden, almond and green apple stand out, although they are only hinted at and dynamic. The sip reveals a subtle liquid of great finesse and tension, enlivened by a savoury verve and truly remarkable freshness. A beautiful and graceful liquid for every day, to be paired with raw or lake fish with satisfaction.
