The Marche white wine "Trebbien" is a Trebbiano that was born from the mind of Valter Mattoni, a visionary who, in 2000, finally decided to devote himself to his passion: making wines that are straightforward, honest and sincere. Indeed, this is exactly how we can sum up this bottle, which presents itself with a floral and fruity bouquet, a prelude to a refreshing and long-lasting sip. A label that has recently received positive opinions from some of the most relevant wine guides, demonstrating the quality that Valter pursues in every production step.
This "Trebbien" is a pure Trebbiano that the Valter Mattoni winery cultivates in the vineyards surrounding the village of Castorano, located about 250 meters above sea level and facing south. Here the vines have an average age of about 40 years, and grow by sinking their roots into soil marked by a clay subsoil. During the harvest, the grapes are carefully selected, and the berries, after destemming, are pressed. The must thus obtained ferments spontaneously, thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts, in steel containers, and then matures for 12 months in barriques. At the end of this year, the wine is ready to be bottled and marketed.
The Trebbiano "Trebbien" made by Valter Mattoni announces itself to the eye with a straw yellow color, very bright and concentrated. The scents that outline the olfactory profile recall notes of flowers, exotic fruit and honey. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, ample and enveloping on the palate, with a sip marked by a savory and fruity core, moving with pleasant freshness and great persistence. An excellent label to uncork now, but one that can wait in the cellar for a few years, allowing it to evolve even more.
