CHAMPAGNE 'CUVÉE TERRIENNE' PHILIPPE DECHELLE DESCRIPTION

Maison Philippe Dechelle's "Cuvée Terrienne" Champagne is a label distinguished by its fresh and fruity profile, which gives immediate gustatory pleasure. Limpid and fragrant, it is the fruit of a balanced blend of the three most widely grown grape varieties in the region: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier, which, thanks to their complementary characteristics, give perfect expressive harmony. Thanks to a centuries-old savoir-faire handed down from generation to generation and the careful ageing process on yeasts, the result is an elegant and refined Champagne, marked by pleasant notes of white-fleshed fruit, enlivened by a vibrant mineral freshness, which gives momentum to the sip.

The "Cuvée Terrienne" is a Champagne from a family business that runs an estate in the Vallée de la Marne. The origins of the domaine date back to the late nineteenth century, when the family was already engaged in viticulture and, in particular, the reconstruction of Champagne vineyards after the destruction caused by phylloxera; however, it was not until 1982 that Philippe Dechelle created a truly independent Maison. Today the property can count on 9 hectares of vineyards, divided into several parcels, cultivated on gentle sunny slopes, which encourage excellent ripening of the grapes. Vinification takes place separately by grape variety in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After a few months of ageing, the base wines are blended to start the second fermentation in the bottle, according to the Champenoise Method, with a stay sur lattes of at least 36 months, before dégorgement.

Champagne "Cuvée Terrienne," made by Philippe Dechelle, is the ideal choice for those who love a classic and traditional taste, a pure expression of the Maison's style. In the glass, it is bright straw yellow in colour with light golden reflections. The perlage is luminous, subtle, continuous and persistent. The nose expresses aromas of white-fleshed fruit, peach, apple, and citrus notes, nuances of small berries and floral hints. The sip is harmonious, savoury and pleasantly fruity, with a fresh finish and good gustatory length. It is an ideal Champagne to enjoy as an aperitif.
