TERRE DI SAN LEONARDO TENUTA SAN LEONARDO 2018 DESCRIPTION

Terre di San Leonardo, made by Tenuta San Leonardo, is a smooth, fresh red wine with an immediate character, which wins over with a pleasantly fruity sip. The careful vinification, very respectful of a high quality raw material, returns all the aromatic fragrance of the grapes. It is a Bordeaux blend of medium structure and intensity, to be tasted young, within the first 5-6 years after harvest. Its characteristics make it perfect to pair with first courses with meat sauces, noble poultry on the spit and roasted white meats.

Terre di San Leonardo red is born in the beautiful Vallagarina area. Tenuta San Leonardo is a vast estate that manages a vineyard of some 40 hectares, cultivated mainly with Bordeaux varieties and other international white grape varieties. The wine comes from a blend characterized by a majority percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, supplemented by Merlot and a small balance of Carménère. At the end of the harvest, the grapes are vinified separately by grape variety, with spontaneous fermentation in concrete tanks and maceration on the skins lasting 2 to 3 weeks, with frequent pumping-over and délestage. The wine matures 80 percent in concrete tanks and 20 percent in French oak barrels and is aged for 6 months in bottles before release.

Tenuta San Leonardo's Terre di San Leonardo wine is the perfect introduction to the world of this prestigious brand, which has helped make Trentino's wine world famous by offering labels with an international vocation. To the eye, it is a bright dark ruby red and expresses a fragrant bouquet, characterized by intense atoms of ripe cherry, currant, blueberry, wild blackberry, delicate nuances of mountain herbs and soft spices. Soft and persuasive, it has a suave palate entry, with delicate, subtle tannins and an aromatic palette dominated by ripe red fruit notes. The finish is harmonious, fresh and with good flavor persistence.
