NEBBIOLO 'OCHETTI' RENATO RATTI 2020 DESCRIPTION

Renato Ratti's Nebbiolo "Ochetti" is a Piedmontese oenological gem that can boast a prestigious origin, with a history certainly less ancient than that of the Langhe, but with an equally exceptional microclimate. In fact, it comes from one of the most vocated wine-growing areas of the Roero, where the Renato Ratti winery owns small but well-exposed plots. The varietal hints typical of the grape emerge strongly on the first nose, followed by more evolved sensations that look into the world of tertiary wines, the result of the period of ageing spent in wood. A label that in the mouth shows off a full and rounded drink, flowing with lightness and juiciness and demonstrating great gastronomic power, capable of accompanying different dishes, such as spit-roasted meats or dishes embellished with rich truffle shavings.

The Renato Ratti "Ochetti" Nebbiolo comes from Roero and is part of a group of reds for too long erroneously considered the minor brothers of the Langa ones. Harvesting usually takes place between mid-September and mid-October, and the bunches, once picked and transferred to the cellar, are vinified in red in with classic methods. The must obtained from pressing the grapes ferments in steel containers at a controlled temperature of 30 degrees, macerating for 10 days. An 8-month maturation in oak barrels concludes the process.

The Nebbiolo "Ochetti" by Renato Ratti is a Piedmontese red wine that manifests itself visually with a beautiful ruby colour. On the nose it is concentrated and it is the fruit that manifests itself with greater intensity, enriched by scents of dried flowers and sweet spices. On the palate it is full-bodied, ample and with a pleasantly smooth sip, present thanks to a finely integrated tannic texture. Characteristic and very typical, it faithfully reflects the terroir of the Roero area.
