PRIMITIVO DI MANDURIA 'TALÒ' SAN MARZANO 2020 DESCRIPTION

San Marzano's "Talò" Primitivo di Manduria is a smooth and intense red wine that perfectly embodies the rich and Mediterranean character of the land of Puglia. This ancient red grape variety, originally from Dalmatia, has found its ideal terroir for centuries in Manduria, expressing itself with an exceptionally alluring Mediterranean character. The brief ageing in wood allows the wine to soften its tannins while preserving its typical richness and fruity fragrance. Its enveloping palate seduces with aromas of ripe cherry, plum, and sweet spices.

The "Talò" Primitivo di Manduria is a wine that aptly represents the style of one of the most important producers in Puglia. Cantine San Marzano can rely on a selection of grapes from a wide range of vineyards cultivated in the heart of Salento on clay-rich soils. The warm and dry climate, always well-ventilated due to the proximity of the sea, ensures excellent ripening of the grapes with very dense aromatic profiles and high sugar content. Primitivo is the wine that best represents the happy marriage between grape and terroir. The choice of a very measured wood ageing always keeps the alluring aromas of the grapes in the foreground.

San Marzano's Primitivo di Manduria "Talò" is a youthful and fragrant red, ideal to enjoy with meat ragù pasta or a mixed grill. It offers great pleasure and immediate drinkability. The vinification is carried out as a red wine, with a maceration period on the skins of about 10 days. It then matures in French and American oak barrels for about 6 months. In the glass, it presents itself with a ruby red colour with slight violet reflections. On the nose, it expresses aromas of cherry, ripe sour cherry, red plum, hints of bitter cocoa, vanilla, and soft oriental spices. On the palate, it has a good structure, is rich and ample, with a subtle tannic texture and a warm, generous, and very persistent finish. The Primitivo version allows you to discover the true essence of Salento wines.
