VERMENTINO COLLI DI LUNI 'ETICHETTA GRIGIA' LUNAE BOSONI 2021 DESCRIPTION

Vermentino "Etichetta Grigia" is a fresh and fruity white, aged in steel, whose immediate pleasantness well represents the character of Ligurian Vermentino. The Colli di Luni area is the eastern strip of Liguria on the border with Tuscany, stretching from the Gulf of La Spezia to the Apuan Alps, a small territory with a unique microclimate, where cool winds from the mountains and mild sea breezes alternate, creating a play of temperature ranges that favors the ripening of fragrant and intense grapes. The name of the Lunae Bosoni winery comes from the Latin name of the city of Luni, an ancient Etruscan, Greek and then Roman coastal settlement that has always been an important port of call and crossroads for peoples and goods. It is from this ancient historical origin that the territory's great winemaking tradition stems, rooted in the millennial experience of the peoples who have inhabited this splendid territory between the sea and the mountains.

The grapes used to produce Vermentino "Etichetta Grigia" come from vineyards cultivated in small plots, all located in the most vocated areas of the territory between the municipalities of Ortonovo and Castelnuovo Magra. Vermentino has adapted perfectly to the Colli di Luni area, thanks to its predilection for the warm, breezy Mediterranean climate and exposures close to the coast, which also characterize its presence in Sardinia and Corsica. The vines are grown on pebbly, skeleton-rich soils, with guyot plantings of a density of 4,000 vines per hectare and have an average age of about 35 years. Manual harvesting is followed by soft pressing and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel. The wine matures in stainless steel until February, when it is bottled.

Cantina Lunae Bosoni's Etichetta Grigia is the most typical direct and immediate interpretation of Vermentino, encapsulating its fruity fragrance and freshness, which makes for pleasantly smooth and easy drinking. In the glass it is straw yellow in color. The bouquet expresses delicate floral scents, aromas of white fruit and citrus. The sip is lean and savory, with a a juicy sip and a finish of beautiful freshness. At the table it pairs well with seafood menus.
