The Barolo di Serralunga by Palladino is a classic, elegant and aristocratic Barolo, born from different crus from Serralunga d’Alba, aged for 24 months in big oak barrels. It springs out fine scents of dried red flowers, cherries, red fruits and spices and the flavour is solid, full-bodied and structured, very well-balanced
The Barolo di Serralunga made by the Palladino winery, a production reality located in Serralunga d'Alba, expresses the most traditional characters of the appellation. A typically fruity nose, in which there is a typical note of violet and dried rose, opens to a body characterized by vigorous tannins, which fully satisfies the mouth. A bottle that already gives emotions, but that in the future will amaze even more for complexity and depth. Perfect to try in combination with structured first courses, red meat main courses and also with a good board of aged cheeses.
The red Barolo di Serralunga comes from the pure use of a grape variety that, in Piedmont, is usual to give qualitatively always convincing expressions, Nebbiolo. This variety is cultivated by the Palladino winery team in vineyards that lie on calcareous, clayey soils, included within some of the most important cru in the Serralunga d'Alba municipality. The grapes, once selected during the harvest stage, vinify in steel and then remain, for two years, in large oak barrels. At the end of this maturation, the wine is finally ready to be bottled and marketed.
This Palladino-branded Barolo di Serralunga announces itself, in the glass, with a beautiful bright ruby red color, characterized by some garnet veins in the rim. Elegant is the bouquet of scents that develops on the nose, in which fruit, withered flowers and spices coexist in a fan that spreads out quietly. The palate is full-bodied, full, ample, with a sip that is striking in its tannic structure, yet never feels out of balance. A Piedmontese red that embodies the classicism of the Barolo DOCG, interpreting its basic characteristics.
