AMARONE CLASSICO RISERVA LE RAGOSE 2012 DESCRIPTION

The Amarone Classico Riserva from Le Ragose reveals a complex and fascinating personality, proving to be very important and articulate on the nose and palate. A label of great depth, presenting itself exactly at the right point of maturation. Credit to the philosophy that Paolo and Marco Galli, owners of Le Ragose winery, have always placed at the base of the production of Amarone. Both are rightly convinced that this red wine needs the right aging in wood and in the bottle, over and above market logics that would allow the release of even more recent vintages. This is a winning and convincing choice, allowing the presentation, year after year, of accomplished bottles ready to manifest themselves in all their beauty.

Le Ragose produces this Amarone Classico Riserva starting with Corvina, to which are added Rondinella, Corvinone and other vines authorized by the regulations. The vines are trained according to the simple Trentino pergola system, and are rooted in soils characterized by red clay and limestone. The grapes, after harvest, are dried for several months inside the fruttaio, and are then fermented thanks to indigenous yeasts, remaining on the skins for about 20-30 days. This is followed by the aging phase, which lasts a full 8 years and is carried out in large oak barrels.

The Amarone Riserva Classico of the Le Ragose winery presents itself to the eye with a dark ruby red color, crossed by light garnet hues. The aromas on the nose are deep, moving on evolved notes of fruit and sweet spices. On the palate it is full-bodied, rich, velvety, with a warm sip thanks to the strong alcohol content; the tannic texture is evident, but it is finely integrated into the wine's overall structure. A bottle with which Le Ragose gives us a powerful and robust sip, embodying the tradition of one of Italy's most important red wines.
