RIBOLLA GIALLA 'VINNAE' JERMANN 2021 DESCRIPTION

Ribolla Gialla "Vinnae" is the white wine par excellence expressing the triple territorial soul of the Jermann winery, at the historic crossroads of Friuli, Austria and Slovenia. A label born precisely from the blend of the three most representative grape varieties of this territory, where one border blurs into the other, namely Ribolla Gialla, Riesling Renano and Friulano. The history of the Jermann winery starts precisely from a generational shift at the turn of the Mitteleuropean century: in 1881 the founder Anton Jermann left the Austrian wine region of Burgerland and then the vineyards in Slovenia, to plant new roots in Friuli, more precisely in the heart of the Collio production area.

Today, no less than 130 hectares of vineyards provide the backdrop for a production that has taken the Jermann winery name to the top of white wine production in Italy. Among them,  this label called "Vinnae" undoubtedly deserves attention, born in 1983 with grapes from the marl and sandstone rich soils of Collio, on soils with the characteristic rocky substrate traditionally called "Ponca".

Jermann's "Vinnae" is the result of the skilful vinification of Ribolla Gialla grapes, combined with small percentages of Friulano and Riesling Renano, from the best estate vineyards that enjoy differentiated exposures ranging from southeast to northwest, located around the Villanova estate in Farra d'Isonzo. Created to celebrate the Jermann family's 100 years of dedication to the vineyard, "Vinnae" is a fresh and balanced wine with a medium structure smoothed by the skillful aging of part of the grapes in Slavonian oak barrels. Its pronounced savory note, supported by a remarkably dry finish, will surprise you with its extreme drinkability!
