BAROLO 'FOSSATI' ROBERTO VOERZIO 2015 DESCRIPTION

Roberto Voerzio's Barolo Fossati represents one of the best excellences of the La Morra area and a spearhead of the historic winery, which has always been oriented towards the search for the highest quality. Fruit of always excellent, ripe and rich grapes grown in the famous cru Fossati, it is an elegant, harmonious and intense Barolo. Perfect point of balance between complexity and fragrant freshness, it expresses an aromatic framework characterized by a refined facet, reminiscent of floral notes, small berries and spices. It is a high-value label to be tasted among true Langhe enthusiasts during a special evening.

Barolo Fossati Roberto Voerzio wine is the result of craftsmanship made with meticulous attention to detail. The Fossati cru has been known for centuries as one of the best in the La Morra area. Roberto Voerzio's vineyards are cultivated in such a way as to obtain few grapes of the highest quality. In spring, the first green pruning is done to thin out the clusters and during August, a second pruning is done to remove the end of the Nebbiolo cluster and leave about one kilogram of grapes per plant. The perfect ripeness of the grapes allows winemaking to proceed in the cellar with minimal oenological intervention. Thanks to these attentions, Voerzio's labels are particularly sought after by the most attentive Barolo enthusiasts and collectors around the world.

The red Barolo Fossati, from Roberto Voerzio's winery, is the fruit of the passion and labor of one of the most celebrated producers in the Langhe. The grapes come from the vineyards cultivated in the territory of the Menzione Geografica Aggiuntiva Fossati, which is located on the southern border of the communal territory of La Morra, in a splendid sunny position at an altitude of more than 300 meters. Fermentation takes place spontaneously using only indigenous yeasts in steel tanks. The wine matures for 24 months in barriques and large barrels, for 8 months in steel and completes aging with an additional 8 months in bottle. In the glass it has a magnificent ruby red color with garnet reflections. The bouquet is elegant and fine, with scents of violets, dried rose petals, licorice root, herbs, aromas of small berries and delicate spices. The sip is harmonious and beautifully balanced, with a mature, complex texture and silky tannic texture. The finish is very persistent and characterized by a lively freshness.
