FIANO DI AVELLINO 'PIETRACALDA' FEUDI DI SAN GREGORIO 2021 DESCRIPTION

"Pietracalda" is a Fiano di Avellino that has its roots deep in Irpinia, Campania. The producing winery is Feudi di San Gregorio, located in the Sorbo Serpico area. This territory is a colorful mosaic of colors and scents gifted by nature, as is the conformation, harmonious alternation of hills, mountains, plains and numerous waterways. This Fiano is a straightforward wine that, in its drinkability, clearly and faithfully reflects a unique and wonderful terroir, made of flowers, plants, sun, sea, wind and earth. This is Irpinia, which, as Feudi di San Gregorio always emphasizes, has its own identity that can distinguish it from the rest of Campania.

The Fiano di Avellino "Pietracalda" is part of Feudi di San Gregorio's Selections line, the result of the most careful selection of grapes that allows the maximum qualitative exaltation of the territory-wine binomial. After careful and precise harvesting, the Fiano grapes are crushed and the must obtained is transferred to steel tanks, where alcoholic fermentation takes place. Once this stage, which transforms the must into wine, is completed, come 4-5 months of resting in steel on its lees, periodically stirred through the technique called batonnage.

This Fiano from Feudi di San Gregorio asserts itself for pleasantness, both in aroma and taste. Notes of fresh fruit, candied citrus and yellow flowers are clearly perceived on the nose. The palate reveals varietal identity and persuades the palate with smoothness balanced by savoriness and freshness. "Pietracalda" is a wine of sun and wind; it is a wine of hills and sea, of scents and freshness. In short, an authentic expression of Irpinia.
